What it is for and how it works
Splitting a PDF is the reverse of merging: new documents are created with a selection of pages from the original. It is useful for sending only the chapter that matters, removing a blank sheet or separating the invoices in a multi-page scan.
The selection uses the document’s page numbers, not the ones printed on the sheets. If a PDF starts with a cover, the printed page “1” may be page 2 of the file.
Frequently asked questions about Split PDF
Can I extract single pages and ranges at once?
Yes. Combine them with commas: 1,4,6-9 extracts page 1, page 4 and pages 6 to 9.
What is the difference between extract and delete?
Extract keeps only the pages you list; delete keeps every page except those you list.
Is the original order kept?
Yes, pages come out in the same order they had in the document.
